Fans can transfer their tickets prior to each game by clicking here for instructions. However, their use cannot inhibit guest movement or block any aisles. Strollers can be left at the Guest Service booth adjacent to Schroeder Gate 1 across from Section 136 and retrieved as you exit TDECU Stadium. Smoking, including e-cigarettes/vaping, is not permitted inside or outside of TDECU Stadium. The shuttle stop on the north end route, will be on entrance 18 by the Blue Donor Lot parking lot and Elgin Garage.

The Cougars played their home games at TDECU Stadium in Houston, Texas, and competed in the West Division of the American Athletic Conference. They finished the season 8–5, 5–3 in AAC play to finish in a three-way tie for the West Division championship. After tiebreakers, they did not represent the West Division in the AAC Championship Game. They were invited to the Armed Forces Bowl where they lost to Army by a score of 14–70, in the process tying records for the most points given up and the largest margin-of-loss in NCAA bowl game history.

Shuttle bus service will be provided on game day to assist spectators to TDECU Stadium. There will be two shuttle routes, one servicing the east side of campus as well as one on the north end. The pickup location prior to the game for the east side is located on University Drive by the Welcome Center.
Third-year head coach Nick Rolovich has brought back the run-and-shoot offense for the 2018 season. Nine starters return among them two-time all-MW linebacker Jahlani Tavai and slot receiver John Ursua, who was the nation's leading receiver last year before a season-ending knee injury curtailed his season. With the ongoing construction on Cullen Boulevard, fans are encouraged to select the best route of travel to Houston Football games and should expect potential delays. Suggested directions for each game day lot can be found by clicking here, and Houston Athletics highly encourages the use of the directions to ensure an efficient drive in.

To access the 200 and 300 level seating in TDECU Stadium, spectators can use the elevator in the northeast corner by Schroeder Gate 1 and Section 133. There are additional elevators on the south side at the club level that provide access to the suite level, press box level and ADA access to the 300 level seating on the south side. There is an additional ADA accessible elevator to get from the lower concourse to the upper concourse by ICON Gate 2. Drones or Remote Controlled Model Aircraft are strictly prohibited in or around TDECU Stadium on game day. The FAA restricts the use of drones or RCMAs within three miles around and 3,000 feet in altitude above TDECU Stadium. UH has three road games in a four-week stretch against East Carolina (Oct. 13), Navy (Oct. 20) and SMU (Nov. 3).
Guests will be asked to remove objects from their pockets and place them on a security table prior to walking through the metal detector. To help expedite the process, guests are advised to only bring items they will absolutely need for the event. Working personnel, including media, will be subject to screening and bag inspections. Disabled Parking – Disabled Parking is available in all game day parking lots and garages. The first level of the TDECU Stadium parking garage offers convenient parking for those with a valid handicap license plate or hangtag. The charge to park on this level is $20, unless you have a Cougar Pride parking pass from any donor lot.
Houston will receive additional revenue when it joins the Big 12 next summer. Problem is, with Texas and Oklahoma planning to leave the conference no later than 2025 and probably earlier, the Big 12’s television-rights revenues are expected to fall off a cliff. Of the three that did—Texas Tech ($189,438), Kansas ($3.86 million), and West Virginia ($8.98 million)—all received far less than Houston.
The visiting team pass gate is located on the north side of TDECU Stadium at Gate 4. The popular UHAA Party on the Plaza is located in Shasta Square, just outside Schroeder Gate 1 and Legends Plaza of TDECU Stadium. Party on the Plaza is the official University of Houston Alumni Association tailgate party held four hours before every Houston Cougars home football game.
Space will be allotted based on the Cougar Pride Priority Point System and sold on a seasonal basis for $1,500 per vehicle. Continuing inappropriate behavior may result in the guest being ejected, arrested by police, or having his/her tickets revoked. All season-ticket holders are responsible for their conduct as well as the conduct of their guests and/or persons using their tickets. Perhaps the single smartest move UH made was luring Sampson away from the Houston Rockets in 2014 to coach the men’s basketball team. He’s a master program-builder and proven winner, and best of all, he has fallen in love with Houston. Sampson had the force of personality—and the results—to shake donors from a decades-long stupor and persuade them to pony up for what would be a sea change for the school. He showed everyone connected with UH that the Cougars could still be relevant. On the other hand, fan interest should grow once UH is back in the same conference as historically familiar opponents such as Texas Tech, Baylor, and TCU.
The strategic value of the school’s sports programs is a frequent talking point for UH president and system chancellor Renu Khator. General Will Call is for customers who have purchased in advance and requested their tickets to be left at Will Call. Customers may pick up Will Call tickets in advance during the hours of 9 a.m. At the Houston Athletics Ticket Office adjacent to Schroeder Gate 1 during normal business hours or on game day starting four hours prior to kick off. The Shasta Square Kids Zone located in the Shasta Square tailgate area is located outside of TDECU Stadium on the north side between Schroeder Gate 1 and Gate 4. All children 13 years and under can enjoy face painting, games and inflatables.
In 2015, UH outlined more stringent guidelines for future football schedules, a model that would include two non-conference games against Power Five opponents and two more from the Group of Five. The school has planned to not schedule any FCS opponents after the 2016, but unforeseen difficulties finding an opponent and the unique situation with TSU opened the door for a one-time exception. UH's current non-conference for 2018 includes road games against Rice (Sept. 1) and Texas Tech (Sept. 15) and a home date against Arizona (Sept. 8).
While inside TDECU Stadium, Guest Services representatives will be located just inside of Schroeder Gate 1, ICON Gate 2, Gate 3 and Gate 4. In addition, the Guest Service desk is available to assist you with any questions or concerns. The Guest Services desk is located at the Northeast corner adjacent to Schroeder Gate 1 .
